[Updated on 10/6/16]:
We finally have direct official confirmation that a new Beyond Good & Evil game is in development. Ubisoft posted on its Facebook page:
If you’ve been waiting for news about BG&E… well, here you go! We are delighted to confirm that Michel Ancel is currently working with the Ubisoft Montpellier Studio on a new Beyond Good & Evil game.
As the original article below states, we’re unsure of what systems the game is slated to release for. We will keep you updated as the news rolls in.
I’ll get straight to the point and admit we have no idea if this new Beyond Good & Evil will come to the NX or not. A rumor earlier in the year seemed to suggest that it could be an NX exclusive, but we haven’t heard anything recently to back up that claim. I hope, at the very least, that it makes its way to a Nintendo system when it eventually launches.
Michel Ancel, the creator the first game has been dropping hints over the past few weeks that pointed toward another Beyond Good & Evil game. Lately he has published two concept images showing off characters for the new title that’s entering development. According to Ancel:
Endangered species – now saved. Game in pre-production. Stay tuned!
Keep in mind Beyond Good & Evil was originally announced about 8 years ago and has yet to materialize. I don’t know much about game development, but if the game is still in pre-production, I’d hazard a guess that the final retail game is at least a year if not more away from releasing. The good news is that the project seems to finally be moving forward and perhaps we’ll know more soon.
