Harvest Moon: Skytree Village Preview

Scheduled to launch on November 8, 2016 in North America, the latest game in the long-running Harvest Moon series is almost here: Skytree Village. If you’ve played prior games you’ll know some of what to expect in this new installment.

Natsume has unveiled the three new bachelorettes in this game. Jeanne is a shy girl training to become an herbal doctor. She’s a bit goofy, but also extremely intelligent and fantastic at her job. Elise is the daughter of Bastian, the Chef and owner of the restaurant in town. She is a cheerful girl who dreams about becoming a world-renowned chef. Melanie is the granddaughter of Gus, the blacksmith. She’s an interior and clothes designer who owns her own business. Which of the three will become your girlfriend? That’s up to you.

Of course, you can also go after the guys in town. There is Cyril, born into a well-known family who just happens to be old-fashioned, honest, and blunt. Then there is Dean, a florist who works alongside his mother. Finally, Gabriel is a livestock keeper who is shy, but loves animals.

Check out the newest trailer from Natsume, and we’ve thrown in the E3 debut trailer for fun. Will you be picking this up, or are you going to wait for Story of Seasons, which comes out sometime in first quarter 2017?

“After the evolutionary Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and a successful jaunt to mobile platforms with Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories, we are really excited to share everything we have learned with our fans,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume. “Our community is very important to us, and their feedback and input has been taken into account a great deal in the development of Harvest Moon: Skytree Village! We hope they will see and feel their contribution in this new game!”

Times have changed in the land known as the Oasis of the Harvest Goddess. Many people used to live in Skytree Village, and the land was lush and green. However, the power of the Harvest Goddess gradually began to wane, and the land became parched and dry.

It’s up to you revive the seven Skytrees in order to give the Harvest Goddess her power back, and, in turn, bring life back to this desolate land!

“We’ve revisited each and every part of what makes a Harvest Moon game, and are excited at the end result,” said Taka Maekawa, Producer of the Harvest Moon series. “We are looking forward to seeing players try the game during E3 2016.”

With a completely new story, players will be challenged to restore the seven legendary Skytrees that make the town so iconic and bring power and prosperity to the land around them. Along the way, players will meet a new cast of characters (with a few returning faces!), alongside a brand new art style, new character models, and more.

With user-friendly tutorials, players will immediately be able to jump into the thick of things, customizing their farm by raising and lowering the land, creating rivers, ponds, and more. Upgraded tools will assist farmers in shaping the land more efficiently, and afterwards they can kick back and relax in their boat to do a spot of fishing! It won’t be long before they’ll need to weigh anchor to care for their newest herd animal: the Poitou donkey!
