GameStop Opening Pre-Orders For Nintendo Switch January 13

As we expected, most retailers should begin taking pre-orders on the Nintendo Switch tomorrow morning. GameStop locations were instructed to place a sign on the front door letting customers know how many pre-orders can be taken. Most stores on the east coast have closed for the day, so signs have been spotted. The below picture is courtesy of Go Nintendo:

You’ll note that GameStop is also running a trade-in promotion. If you’re a Power Up Rewards Pro member you can get an extra $75 on your Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, or Wii U if you apply it toward your Nintendo Switch pre-order. You only get $50 if you’re not a Pro member. Of course, the Pro membership is only $15 for a year, so worst case scenario is you sign up for one and still come out ahead. If you have a Wii or 3DS to get rid of you’ll get an extra $30 for Pro and $20 for non-Pro.

This store in particular has 38 systems up for grabs. Good luck everyone!
