Abraca: Imagic Games has been officially announced for the Nintendo Switch. It isn’t clear if the game will be released in North America or not, but the Switch is region free so the game will be able to be digitally downloaded from the European eShop this May.
The game is quite strange at first glance (and even at second glance). It’s set in a medieval kingdom with princes and princesses and wicked monsters and creatures. The game supports up to four players, and there are several modes of play. The game seems to focus on the idea of three players against one. One player tries to make it to the end of the level and defeat the boss while the other three try and stop him or her by placing traps or flat out attacking.
The debut trailer shows off some very nice, bright and crisp graphics. It also reveals that one player can use the Switch on the TV and the other three can use their own Switch systems. Does this mean each player needs a copy of the game? We don’t know yet, but hopefully that’s not the case. Also, we’re eager to find out if the game can be played with four players on a single Switch, as apparently the PC version allows for this.
Since all of the media and official pages are in French, we don’t know a whole lot more on this game at this time. Hopefully it will receive a localization and we can enjoy it in English. We’ll update the preview if the game makes its way stateside. In the meantime, feel free to peruse the official French site.
