GameStop Stores Receive New Supply Of Nintendo Switch In Time For Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Supply of the Nintendo Switch systems appears to be improving in some areas of the country. Here in Minnesota we’ve seen some stores have them available regularly on store shelves one day, but then the next they’re usually gone. Still, either supply is getting better or demand is beginning to be met. As we head into the summer vacation season console sales normally taper off, but the Switch could still see strong sales due to strong demand and the fact that it’s also a portable device, which is fantastic for long car rides and family vacations.

One retailer that has received an injection of Nintendo Switch systems is GameStop. Although its online store is currently sold out, most of the brick and mortar locations received a shipment of new consoles over the past few days. This is ahead of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launch this Friday, a perfect time for newcomers to jump in. If you have stuff to trade in it will lower the cost even more, and you can receive up to a $200 credit when trading in a PS4, Xbox One, New Nintendo 3DS or Wii U (note that only the PS4 will get you up to $200). You can check with your local store for details. Good luck on your endeavor!

Just in time for the April 28 launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, GameStop, a family of specialty retail brands that makes the most popular technologies affordable and simple, announced today that it just received a limited supply of Nintendo Switch systems available immediately for customers in-store only and while supplies last.

“It’s perfect timing to have additional Nintendo Switch units arrive just days before the launch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, one of the biggest and most loved games from Nintendo,” said Eric Bright, senior director of Merchandising for GameStop. “This is truly an amazing pairing of the latest in Nintendo technology innovation with a classic, iconic game.”

The Nintendo Switch system and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are available for individual purchase. GameStop will offer the Nintendo Switch system for $299.99, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the latest game to launch on the innovative Nintendo Switch platform, for $59.99.  Additionally, GameStop is offering great accessories and collectible toys, such as the Mario Kart Mini Anti-Gravity RC Racer for $49.99, and the Nintendo Switch Racing Wheel or Switch Joy-Con Racing Wheelboth for $14.99.

To make a Nintendo Switch purchase even more affordable, GameStop is offering up to a $200 credit when a customer trades in a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, new Nintendo 3DS or Wii U (32GB) and applies the credit towards the purchase of a Nintendo Switch. This offer is currently available and runs through Sunday, April 30.

“If Nintendo Switch and/or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is on a customer’s gaming wish list, I would strongly suggest they plan to come to our stores as soon as they can. These products will not last through the weekend!” Bright continued.

Customers should contact their store for availability and more information.
